(statement from the artist) I recently wanted to fit out our nursery with Fairy story book characters, and stumbled on this beautiful art work. This is my revised version of Water Pond Fairies with respect to the original artist Molly Brett who painted post cards around 1940. I have built in some new characters and moved things around and removed the floral greenery frame. I also removed some of the original characters and added in my own. I modernised the fairies with new clothes and hairstyles and I also changed their little faces. Thank you for the inspiration Molly!
